Shaun Derry up and running as Cambridge ease to away victoryShaun Derry picked up his first win as Cambridge boss with a convincing 4-2 victory over struggling Morecambe.Derry's side took the lead through a Leon Legge header after 11 minutes and apart from a Lee Molyneux leveller in the 22nd minute never looked like relinquishing the lead. Two goals in two minutes just after the half hour proved decisive for the U's.Harrison Dunk's 34th-minute cross from the left was met by Ben Williamson and although his effort was superbly saved by goalkeeper Barry Roche, the ball fell perfectly for Ryan Donaldson who lashed home the loose ball from the edge of the area. The U's extended their lead with their next attack
Cameron Gayle found himself in space down the right-hand side and produced a low shot that should have been easy for Roche but the ball squirmed under his body and crept over the line.Morecambe's hopes of a second-half comeback were soon dashed when Cambridge scored a fourth in the 47th minute.Williamson collected the ball on the edge of the Morecambe box and breezed past two weak challenges before clipping the coolest of finishes past Roche from 12 yards.Morecambe hit back with their best spell of the game and pulled a goal back when Shaun Miller crossed for Peter Murphy to volley home his first of the season for the Shrimps after 66 minutes
