A late goal from Iyseden Christie gave Kidderminster their second win of the week.
The striker, on loan from Rochdale, opened his account for the season with a true predator's goal 17 minutes from time.
Taking advantage of some hesitation in the Morecambe defence, he raced between defenders and goalkeeper to stab the ball into the empty net much to his delight.
Since returning to Aggborough from Rochdale, Christie had failed to hit the target but he looked more like his old self in this game and was only denied a goal a few moments earlier by a late offside flag after converting Michael Blackwood's dangerous cross.
It proved to be the telling moment of a game which saw both sides waste glorious chances.
The best of those fell to Morecambe's Gary Thompson who produced probably the miss of the season in the first half when he drilled David McNiven's cross over the bar from just three yards out when he looked certain to score.
It was a miss that would end up proving costly but it wasn't the only poor effort of the game as Kidderminster midfielder Simon Russell joined in the act by also wasting two good openings towards the end of the first half.
On 39 minutes he raced on to Christie's well timed lay-off but shot wide from 12 yards when he should have done better and then four minutes later was denied by Steven Drench after running on to Gavin Hurren's excellent cross-field ball.
The second half saw the Shrimps start well with McNiven denied his second goal of the season by an excellent save from Scott Bevan as he dived low to his right to tip away a close-range header.
Central defender Chris Blackburn then came close to scoring a rare goal for the Shrimps when he volleyed on the turn from the edge of the box but saw the ball creep inches wide of the post.
When McNiven had a shot turned away for a corner by the excellent Mark Creighton the Shrimps looked set to take control.
But then Mark Yates' side hit back and began to threaten themselves with substitute Blackwood in the think of the action.
His hard work up front led to a Hurren shot that was comfortably saved by Drench before heading just past the post after a dangerous cross from John Harkness.
Unlike Morecambe, Kidderminster made their pressure pay and scored when on top and Morecambe could not get back into the game.
Bevan did well to scramble to his left and save from substitute Matty Shaw in the dying moments, but he should have been made to work harder by Danny Carlton four minutes from time when he had a free header six yards out but produced a weak effort that was easy for the keeper.
