Morecambe V Dag Red at Globe Arena - Match Preview

Shrimps wait on defensive duo

Morecambe are sweating on the fitness of defenders Nick Fenton and Jordan Mustoe ahead of the npower League Two trip to Dagenham.

Both men picked up injuries and were substituted during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Oxford at the Globe Arena.

Shrimps goalkeeper Barry Roche expects a tough test from Dagenham, who are looking to prevent Jim Bentley's side making it four npower League Two games unbeaten.

"Dagenham came up to our place last season and they hadn't won in something like 12 games and they beat us," Roche told Press Association Sport.

"So we know all about them. We've had quite a few tasty encounters with them over the years.

"There's no way we'll be underestimating them but at the same time we know they won't be underestimating us and they'll be expecting a tough game too."

Forward duo Danny Carlton and Jordan Burrow (both knee) remain on the sidelines.

Dagenham boss John Still is expected to name an unchanged line-up for the fifth consecutive game.

Still's side have won five of their last seven league fixtures, after only winning three of their previous 15.

And the manager has resisted the chance to freshen things up in recent weeks despite having a clean bill of health, and is not expected to change that philosophy after his side have kept three clean sheets in four matches.

It means Josh Scott will remain on the bench despite his good record against Morecambe. In the 2010 play-off semi-final first-leg, the striker scored four times as the Daggers won 6-0. Scott also scored in this fixture last year, as the Daggers won 2-1 at the Globe Arena.
