Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy hopes he will be able to add to his squad during the summer, but admits he will have to release other players first.Defender Danny Adams has already been released early from his contract, while Michael Twiss is also believed to be close to leaving Christie Park.
McIlroy told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I've the nucleus of a decent squad.
"I want to add to it in the close season but I've been told I've got to get people out the door first."
Morecambe struggled during the early stages of the campaign with lengthy injuries to a number of key players.

But with captain Jim Bentley returning to full fitness and midfielder Fraser McLachlan stepping up his recovery in the reserves on Wednesday, McIlroy is rapidly seeing his squad regain much needed strength in depth.
"We've had our problems with injuries in the squad throughout the season," he said. "It hit us really hard early on but we've managed to get ourselves back together.
"A number of players have come back from injury which has made it easier, although there are certain people in the squad who don't like it if they're not playing.
"They want to play, especially at the stages of their careers, and I can understand that."
